2010 “Beach Party” Camp Independence Style
Each July, approximately 70 Nevada youth are whisked away to Camp Independence summer
camp at Torino Ranch in Nevada to escape the Las Vegas heat and the realities of their
everyday lives. At camp they learn archery, swim in the lake, learn to canoe, climb the
rock wall and learn how to cope daily with an incurable bleeding disorder. They
even learn how to self administer their medications intravenously.
Our theme is “Beach Party” and the committee is busy planning activities and lots of fun for the campers. Camp is offered to bleeding disorders youth and their siblings that live in the same household ages 8-17. There is no cost to our families for summer camp.
If you are interested in attending camp this year please contact the HFNV office at
702.564.4368 or email AMcguire@hfnv.org as soon as possible.
There are only a few spaces left for this year.
