A TYPICAL DAY AT CAMP

Once campers arrive at Camp Independence, the buses will be met by volunteers and staff.  They will wear color coded wrist bands so their counselors will be able to locate their campers by wrist bands.  Each camper will receive their cabin assignments and their luggage will be unloaded in the grassy area where they can pick it up and set up their bunk. After setting up their bunks, opening session activities will take place.  Then it is the start of four days of…..FUN! FUN! FUN!

Each morning campers and staff will have breakfast and participate in a day full of activities: Breakfast, announcements, morning activities, lunch, afternoon activities, and rest period in cabins, dinner and evening activities.  After evening activities and a snack campers will report to their cabins for lights out and sleep.  After a full day of activities, the campers and staff are ready for bed.

Camp is offered to bleeding disorders youth and their siblings that live in the same household ages 8-17. Youth ages 16 and 17 will participate in the “Leaders in Training” program. This program is designed to train our older teens to assist counselors and activity specialists and to one day become our future leaders.

We look forward to seeing you all at camp this year. It is a wonderful 4 days spent in the outdoors (and out of the heat of Las Vegas) enjoying many activities, seeing old friends and making new ones. More information will follow in the next couple of months. If you have any questions, please contact the foundation office 702.564.4368.
