2nd Annual Wine Tasting is being held on Thursday September 17, 2009 5:30-7:30pm at Nove Italiano Restaurant at the Palms.

9th Annual Art Kane Memorial Golf Tournament is being held at Revere Golf Club in Henderson, NV with a 7:30am shotgun start

These fundraising events are very important to the continuation of our educational meetings, Youth Program and Women’s and Mom’s with bleeding disorders. The HFNV can not function without the much needed income from these events.

We are in need of golfers, raffle prizes and auction items for the golf tournament. For the wine event we will need participants, wine donations and auction items. We will also need volunteers for both events. If you can help with either of these events please contact Anne at the HFNV office 702.564.4368 or email info@hfnv.org

It is very important that the Bleeding Disorders community rally our Nevada community and support these events. Without the support of the community our Foundation can not continue to offer these vital programs to the community.

What’s New with your Foundation?

As you may have heard the HFNV has a new home. Our new office has space for our Board meetings, Youth meetings, Advisory committee and Women & Mom's with Bleeding Disorders. This is really a dream come true for the foundation since we lost our office in Henderson several years ago. Our youth will be meeting March 28, 2009 and will help to decorate the meetingroom with camp and event photos. All youth and teens are invited to join us for an afternoon of fun and food.

An Open House is planned in the next few months and if you would like to assist in the planning, we welcome one and all. Contact Jeanne jfivash@hfnv.org or Anne amcguire@hfnv.org

We will be adding information to the website in Spanish and our webmaster, Tron from Tronic Designs, is busy completing that. If you have any new ideas or suggestions for our website or newsletter, please contact the HFNV office.

Don't forget to mark your Calendars for the HFNV's fundraiser "1 Mile Walk, Barbecue, Raffle and Games" which is being held on May 30, 2009. You can find additional information on the website and also pledge sheets. It is very important that the Bleeding Disorders community rally our Nevada community and support this event. The Youth will be holding a raffle to raise money for the Summer Camp program. There will be something for everyone; seeing old friends and making new friends, food, leisurely walk and of course fun and games!

- The New Year brought the Foundation's Board of Directors together for it's first Strategic Planning Conference in January. The board is continuing to work on finalizing the plan. This will help the Foundation structure committees to focus on specific areas to strengthen the organization.

- HFNV is communicating with our National Foundation (NHF) to evaluate possibilities for a more supportive environment on a national level.

- HFNV Board of Directors welcomed two new Board Members at the March Board of Directors meeting: Alison Bartko & Paulette Shimabukuro. These two board members have been active community members who also bring business & fundraising experience to the organization.

- HFNV Board of Directors welcomed a new Executive Assistant to the staff: Anne McGuire. Anne will be working part-time in the Rancho office.
